This pattern is something I made for my friend Mario, who I knew would need something simple for him to wear. However, I wanted to do something unique with the shaping, trying a twist on the half-circle. The
garter stitch highlights the beauty of the yarn and is mirrored in the border pattern. The cast on starts at the neck, with four lines of yarn over increases radiating to form the half-circle. The border uses simple increases and decreases and is “knitted on” after the body is completed. This could be knitted in any weight or to any size, so long as the final body number ends as a multiple of 8 + 6.
