I wanted to make a pair of convertible mittens for some friends of mine for Christmas, but couldn’t find an easy pattern for worsted weight yarn. So I decided to make my own. Here it is!

ERRATA (thanks to Jupitorlita for catching this)

When beginning to knit the thumb, you should have 14 sts (not 12) that were on the stitch holder, then you pick up four more sts along the top edge of the thumb opening for a total of 18 sts (not 16).

Row 18 (thumb): K2tog all the way around (6 sts rem.)
Row 19 (thumb): K2tog all the way around (3 sts rem.)
