Mariposa is a knitting pattern for a beautiful knitted butterfly that brings a bit of brightness and joy to any room!

It works up beautifully in variegated yarn! Thicker yarn on smaller needles adds a little more stiffness and helps with wing shape.

The recommendation for Red Heart Soft is for body, which is worked in i-cord. You will need <10 yards. Scrap yarn works well.

Craft wire is used to keep its wings in place if you choose display it mid-flight/aloft.
