Mariposa
Mariposa, which means “butterfly” in Spanish, is a majestic top-down, triangular shawl, with a feathery leaf motif. I designed this shawl with Nautilace in mind, a wonderfully lustrous and soft silk/camel yarn from Cephalopod Yarns --(Thank you Cacie and Sarah for your yarn support!).
This pattern is best suited to experienced lace knitters who are comfortable knitting from charts. The finished and blocked shawl will vary in size according to gauge. The shawl shown in the photo measures approximately 80” x 40” (I am a loose knitter!)
A very special thank you to Monika in Austria, my trusty test knitter!--I hope one day to knit as expertly and beautifully as she!
VELEN DANKE Theresa Dittrich for translating this pattern into German!
