Marit
These are the October mittens for The Selbu Mitten Club II. You can make these using two 50g skeins of the Norwegian DK weight yarn Rauma 3 ply Strikkegarn, one for each colour. These mittens are relatively simple and quick to knit up, using a floral traditional chart from the Selbu region of Norway.
These mittens were named after the mother of Selbu knitting herself: Marit Emstad (1841–1929), as the earliest Selbu mittens can be traced back to her. Her name is a Scandinavian take on Margaret, derived from the Greek and Old Persian word for pearl.
I hope you will enjoy this pattern, and if you need any help this topic in my group is the best place for support.
