I wanted to a simple shawl pattern that would work with a highly variegated yarn. This shawl alternates 24 rows of basic garter stitch with 24 rows of an Hourglass Openwork lace pattern.
The example was knit with one skein of single-ply fingering weight yarn. It can be knit to any size simply by adding additional repeats of the two bands.
Materials
Yarn: 1 100gr skein fingering/sock weight yarn (400 yrds – 450 yrds)
Needles: US 6 / 4.0 mm
