Marl Your Scraps
I don’t mind having leftover yarn from my crochet and knit projects. I keep my scraps in plastic bags sorted by yarn size. You never know when you might need a small amount of one color for an edging, or several colors for a project that calls for a small amount of yarn.
If you would like to use your yarn scraps for a fun, quick and wearable project, Marl Your Scraps is for you! This bandana-style cowl is crocheted flat, wet blocked and then easily seamed to form the cowl shape.
You will need about 100 grams of scrap fingering weight yarn in a variety of colors. The cowl is crocheted holding two different colored strands together to get the marl effect. Instructions include how to mix the colors and where to change colors. It’s easy and fun, and this project will fly off your hook.
And, as an added bonus, if you wish to use a different weight of yarn, or a gradient worsted weight yarn held as one strand, you simply follow the same measurements for the stopping points.
Dive into your scrap stash and find your perfect color combination and get started and Marl Your Scraps!
