MARLED MITTS
Do you have lots of left over yarn from various projects? Well here’s one way of using up that fingering or sock yarn and making a pair of fingerless Marled Mitts. These are inspired by frosty, sleety Winter mornings.

These are a seamless design, knit in the round, using two strands of yarn held together all the way through. It’s all Knit, no purling, just your best mate stocking stitch in the round!

These Marled Mitts are knit with the leftovers from my summer Reef Breeze shawl - the beautiful ‘Meadow’ from The Fibre Company. There are two sizes - a Small, and a Medium - Large size.

SIZES:
Sizes: Small (Medium - Large).
Finished Length: 20cm / 8” – both sizes
Finished Circumference (at widest point around hand): 16.5 (18.5)cm / 6.5 (7.25)”

Measurements taken with relaxed (not stretched) fabric, after blocking.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Sample shown in
The Fibre Company, Meadow 100g (498m/ 545yds; lace weight; 40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen). Fingering weight.

Medium to Large size:

10g (0.35 oz) – 50m (55 yds)

Tools:
3.5mm/US 4 and 4mm/US 6 Double pointed needles or equivalent circular needle, for your preferred method of small-circumference knitting in the round. Adjust needle size to match gauge, noting that the larger of the two needles should be 0.5mm / 2 US needle sizes larger than the smaller when the gauge is met.
