“Marmalade” is made in just 3 pieces and requires very little sewing: tail, body and head are made in one piece, then arms and wig are made apart and sewn to the body.

DIFFICULTY: This pattern has been rated Intermediate.

STITCHES: You’ll use a few basic stitches: sc (inc, dec, FLO), slst, hdc, dc, FPdc and the loop stitch.

The pattern includes many photos to help you all the way as well as an explanaiton of how to make two special stitches you will use: a shell stitch to make the tail and a loop stitch to make the wig.

You’ll need:

• Yarn: Color 1 (C1): 1oz (30g) of the color of your choice for the tail. Color 2 (C2): 1oz (30g) of the skin color of your choice. Color 3 (C3): A few yards/m of yarn of the color of your choice for the shells of the bra. Color 4 (C4): Approx. 3oz (90g) of yarn, the color of your choice for the hair. This can vary a lot depending on the length you give to the wig.
• Black embroidery thread.
• A 2.5mm hook (or the best size for your yarn).
• 10mm safety eyes (or the size you prefer)
• Stuffing material, scissors and yarn needle.

OTHER INFO:

• Using 5ply (Sport weight) yarn and a 2.5mm hook as I did for the pattern, your mermaid will measure approx. 20cm height (8”) but as with other amigurumi, you can use yarn in any weight you like just adjusting hook size and eyes.

• Usando estambre delgado (5ply) y un gancho de 2.5mm como utilicé para el patrón, tu sirena medirá aprox. 20cm de altura, pero como con otros amigurumi, puedes utilizar estambre de otros grosores ajustando el tamaño del gancho y los ojos.
