A marsupium is a pouch that protects eggs, offspring, or reproductive structures, the perfect name for that which keeps our most precious and important treasures safe. This pattern was created out of sheer necessity last year, when my husband and I were preparing to move to Malawi for work. I couldn’t find a receptacle suitable to pack my crystals anywhere in town, so I decided to make one. It’s a great stash buster for those tiny bits of yarn you can’t do much with, but don’t want to waste by throwing away.

The pouch measures 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide, with a simple basket weave pattern suitable for beginner knitters.
