Martha Dress
Martha is a lovely little dress with a flared skirt. The dress is knitted top-down with raglan increases and has a small slit at the back with tie strings. The sleeves are ¾-length. The body is knitted in Organic Merino 400 on 3,5 mm needles, while the skirt is knitted with double-stranded Fluffy Alpaca Mix on 15 mm needles.
Martha is worked top-down. First, it is knitted back and forth with short rows to shape the neckline, while increases are made at the four raglan markers to shape the shoulders. Then, the raglan increases continue while knitting in the round. After the raglan increases, the work is divided for the body and sleeves. The sleeve stitches are placed on a stitch holder, while the body and skirt are knitted.
The sleeves are knitted in the round with regular decreases along the way and finished with an i-cord edge.
Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline, and an i-cord edge is knitted, which is extended to create a small bow at the back.
