The adult small (teen) version of this pattern is available for free on my blog.

I designed this toque during my first winter in Martin, UK. The winters are a lot milder than those back home in Canada and a lighter weight hat is quite nice. I designed this using DK yarn as it is much more available in the UK than back home.

The pattern would work fine with worsted weight, but your sizing might be a little off. A thinner worsted weight would work well. In fact, in my toddler size trial, I mixed the Stylecraft Special DK with Lion Brand Ferris Wheel which is a rather thin worsted.

The pattern is written in 4 sizes: Toddler, Child, Adult Small (or Teen) and Adult Large.

Two hooks are used. 4mm (G) for the band and 5mm (H) for the body.

This had works well with 2 or more colours. The original I created has 6 colours, while the second I created only has 2. The pattern is written for 2 colours but with notes on my 6 colour variation included.

Yardage needed (approximation):

Toddler: 40g (125m)
Child: 50g (150m)
Small Adult: 60g (175m)
Large Adult: 70g (200m)
