Mary Lou Shawl
Mary Lou Shawl is worked in a Garter Stitch body with cable – leaves lacy edge. On my sample I’ve worked with two yarn colors, the charts and written instructions are created for two yarn colors. I recommend solid color for the edge of shawl.
Yarn:
DK weight yarn Sonoma Baah 100% superwash merino wool, 233 yards / 213m / 100g / skein.
Color: Irish Moss (2 skeins for the edge) and Olive You (3 skeins for the body of shawl). Total yardage is approx 1170 yds (sample size large).
The size is easily adjusted by working the main pattern repeat as many times as desired.
Skill level:
Intermediate (m1r, m1rp, twisted stitches, cables, I-cord bind off, optionally work with two yarn colors using Intarsia Technique).
Needles: 4.5 mm (47”) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Measurements: 68”x 40” (172cm x 102cm).
Gauge: : 18 stitches and 32 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in Garter St after blocking.
Notions:
Cable needle
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Notes:
Pattern stitches are both written and charted.
