Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary
by Kath Andrews
A bright matching pincushion and lined needle case using stranded knitting techniques. Named in honour of my mother who taught me to both knit and sew. The reversal of colours on the pincushion reflects the fact that she likes to change her mind!
Smaller needles are for st-st lining and edging of Needle case. St-st gauge on smaller needles is 25sts x 36 rows over 10cm.
The knitted lining is ideal for storing those larger tapestry needles.
Also required:
Stuffing for pincushion
2 pieces of felt, 20.5 x 9cm
Sewing needle
Sewing thread to match Yarn A
Tapestry needle
3 colours of yarn are used. Approximate yarn amounts are as follows:
Yarn A: 40m
Yarn B: 50m
Yarn C: 25m
