Maryanna
MARYANNA is a garden-inspired sweater that is knit seamlessly on circular needles from the top down. The yoke features colorwork in a folksy floral motif. One of my goals in designing this pattern was to create colorwork that is not too difficult for relatively new knitters to navigate, yet engaging for experienced knitters; only two colors are worked throughout the yoke at the same time, and most rows have short floats. Maryanna is designed to be slightly cropped with a relaxed fit. This pattern is written for six sizes. The neckline has short row shaping; additional short rows at the back hem create a figure-flattering shape. Sleeve length and body length can easily be adjusted to suit your individual preference.
This pattern has been updated to include sizes up to 65 inch finished bust measurement, as well as notes on additional size modifications.
SIZES
Pattern is written for three sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6).
Sample sweater pictured is worn with positive ease.
finished measurements:
bust circumference — 40 (45.5, 50, 56, 60, 65) inches
YARN
This pattern is written for DK weight yarn. The sample pictured was knit using a woolly/rustic combination of yarns:
Brown Sheep Company Prairie Spun DK (Owl Gray) for the main color— 4 (4, 5, 6, 6, 7) 100g skeins, each approximately 258 yards (236m)
,
BC Garn Semilla Organic DK (Relish) for the contrast color— 1 50g ball, approximately 175 yards (160m)
Other combinations of yarns (and fiber types) could be substituted.
