Maryland Shawl
This shawl is designed to showcase your indie dyed skeins using a simple garter stitch pattern that will let the yarn’s beauty shine through. It was originally designed as a celebration shawl for the First Annual Fiber Art Studio Tour. Discussion with the Fiber Art Studio Tour committee led to a design that highlights all that is great in Maryland from the ocean to the Appalachian Mountains. Choose your yarn based on color by area, or by gradient, or simply your favorite shades and textures found at each of the studios along the tour. If you are making this without the benefit of the tour, you can use minis or even leftover hand-dyed yarns in your collection. Each section is about 100 yards. You should have at least 2 semi-solid colorways so that your shawl will be harmonious.
Name changed to Maryland Shawl to reflect the understanding that state anthem is being decommissioned due to its racist leanings.
Erratum: Section 3 should be done in Color 2 and 3
