Mason Jar Cozy*
Do you drink hot tea out of a mason jar? Then you know at times it can get way too hot to grab with your hand. This mason jar cozy will allow you to handle it without worry of getting burned and it also provides added insulation to keep drinks hot (or cold) longer.
You can use any worsted weight yarn but cotton is a good choice with the insulation it would provide for hot drinks and the absorption of the condensation for cold drinks.
This pattern is for a standard a quart size mason jar but can be adjusted to fit any size as it is worked from side to side. It is very quick to work up and helps use your scrap yarn stash up.
Materials needed to complete this project are:
Worsted weight yarn
Size G (4.0mm) crochet hook
Non-slip shelf liner (small strip to fit on the inside of the cozy)
Button
Needle and thread for sewing button & non-slip liner on
