A few years ago my family and I began using mason jars as our tumblers of choice. The only downside to them was the fact that when filled with a cold beverage, your jar would sweat everywhere. When filled with a hot beverage, it was to hot to handle.

So I started making mason jar cozies and they have been a huge hit. When asked recently to create something for a teacher gift I came up with this apple cozy. It has been a huge success and many of you have requested the pattern so here you go.

Please keep in mind that you want your cozy to be tight when putting it on, if worked to loose it will fall right off when being handled.

One skien of Vanna’s Choice will make two mason jar cozy bases. It takes very little to construct the apple or pumpkin.

At the end of the pattern you will also find a pattern for a pumpkin appliqué, because after all…everyone loves a little pumpkin spice this time of year.
