PATTERN SALE: All sock patterns are currently buy 2 get 1 free, no coupon code needed.
This is knit with mosaic colorwork, so only one color is worked at a time. This makes it easy to get a fun textured and colorful sock. They are knit top-down with a heel flap.
This pattern is written so that even a beginner can knit it without difficulty if you are new to sock knitting. It has lots of detail and additional instructions and explanations, as well as a corresponding knit-along tutorial for the heel.
This pattern does NOT require Kitchener stitch but does include a modification if you prefer this toe method.
YARN:
Any sock or fingering yarn. Works well with 20g mini skeins, depending on the size you are knitting.
The yardage used will depend on the height of your sock and the color used for the heel & toe.
- If using the MC for the heel & toe - OR - only two colors total I suggest having a 50g skein of CC.
- Heel & toe together = 20g
- Each CC on the body = 10g-20g
- If you are using only 20g skeins, use an additional/different color for heel & toe
- For 3+ colors, with a CC used in body pattern also used for heel & toe: XS-S = 50g MC & 20g CCs M-XL = 65g+ MC, 30g+ CC also used for heel & toe, 10g-20g for other CC
NEEDLES:
Sock Weight: US 1 (2.25mm)
You can use whichever needle method you prefer, DPNs, 9” circular, 2 circular needles, etc.
SIZES:
The pattern comes in sizes XS-XL. It will fit from child size through adult XL, there is a size for everyone!
HEEL & TECHNIQUE:
This sock uses the heel flap technique.
This sock is knit top-down.
Uses mosaic colorwork.
Written & charted instructions.
