NOTE SIZE XL (2XL): These sizes have not been test knitted, which means that the amount of yarn given is an estimate. If you choose to knit one of these sizes, I will be happy if you send me feedback on the exact amount of yarn :) post@secondknit.com

The sweater is worked from the top down, with turning needles over the neck to shape the shoulders. Then stitches are picked up to each shoulder which are worked back and forth separately before they are gathered after the cutout for the v-neck is formed. The body is worked in the round before finished with a classic ribbed edge. The diagram is followed throughout, and when, for example, reference is made to “part 1, 2 or 3” it means that you should work the relevant part of the diagram. Since the pattern reports go over so many stitches, the expression at the sleeve opening will be different for each size; for one size, you will pick up sleeve stitches along a stockinette section of 8 sts, while for another size, this section will consist of a cable pattern.

At the beginning of the sleeves, turning rows are worked to create a rounded shoulder. The sleeves are finished with contrasting stripes on the ribbed edge. Finally, stitches are picked up along the cutout for the v-neck, which is also worked in the same rib with contrasting stripes as sleeve rib. All ribbed edges are finished with Italian bind off.

The sizes are calculated based on a positive ease of approximately 10-22 cm, which you add to your own bust measurement. The pattern follows body measurements of:
80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm.

Example: If you have a bust measurement of 93 cm and want the sweater to be:
Tight-fitting:
Add 10 cm = 103 cm to the sweater which corresponds to size XS.

Slightly oversized:
Add 22 cm = 115 cm to the sweater which corresponds to size S-M.

The model in the picture has a bust measurement of 83 cm (22 cm positive ease on the sweater compared to body measurement), and is wearing size XS with a back length of 56 cm.

It is very important that the gauge is complied with in order for the result to be as the pattern promises. Deviations in the gauge can give you a sweater that is too big/small, or a v-neck that is too long/short. It is therefore recommended to work a swatch, which is then washed and blocked. This will tell you whether you can work with guided needle size, or whether you have to go up/down in needle size.
