Includes more than one version of a beanie.
For the “ponytail” version, see my “Blue Diamond Beanie” design. See my “Party Beanie” for how to make and attach the Pompom.

Match your Beanie to your sweater.
Made with Madelinetosh’s magnificent hand-dyed, luxuriously soft 100% merino wool. For a woman, do a loose cast on of 80 stitches. For a man, loose cast on 84 stitches. The pattern has a photo tutorial, and information for how to leave a hole to bring through your own hair. With just one skein of Tosh Chunky in the main color, you can make two Beanies, and still have plenty left over of the main corrugated ribbing color.
You will also need a set of 6 inch US Size 10 double-pointed needles, and a blunt plastic embroidery needle, (sharp metal embroidery needle also recommended). For the extra trim colors in the corrugated ribbing, you will need 88 inches of any aran or chunky yarn for each color So if you wear a designer sweater, why not make yourself a Beanie to match!
