Matilda Mermaid
Matilda is an Australian mermaid who would love to travel the world and meet other lovers of mermaids – big and small..
She is made in the round with the head, body and tail made in one piece with the arms crocheted in. The pattern notes are based on 4 ply cotton for the body and 8 ply cotton for the hair and the skirt.
15 pages with lots of photos to guide. It is in A4 format for easy printing and reading.
Is suitable for US and UK user. There are two documents to allow the purchaser to choose preferred terminology
Using these materials Matilda is about 40 cm long from head to tail.
I used slightly more than 100 grams in 8 ply cotton for the hair and skirt (around 500 meters) from Bendigo Woollen Mills in Australia. Plus just over two 50 gram balls of 4 ply for the main part of Matilda (about 350 metres or 400 yards) using Turkish cotton repackaged as Clever Country in Australia.
Could be made in other thread so long as they are similar differences in ply.
Can be made for children under 3 by embroidering the eyes.
Recommended for a crocheter with intermediate skills.
