Matilda's half circle shawl
Gauge is not crucial for this pattern, but I do tend to crochet loosely.
10 DC stitches x 5 rows = 4” wide x 3 1/2” tall.
I used a medium-weight #4 yarn, but other yarns would work as well using recommended hook size for your yarn. Just remember, drape and size would be affected by using a different type of yarn and/or changing hook size. The goal is to create some drape with this pattern and if you crochet tightly I would suggest going up one or two hook sizes.
Approximate finished size is about 56” x 25”. You could make this shorter for a neck scarf or even longer for larger Shawl.

I used…
* Lion Brand basic stitch, (grey, 100 gr, 219 yd., 200 m) and
Bernat giggles, white, 100 gr, 185 yd, 169 m)
(I used one skein of gray and about 1 1/2 skeins of white.) loop
For this size shawl, you will probably need about 500 yards, approx. 450 m of medium-weight/worsted weight #4 yarn.
(I do not address color changes in the pattern because everyone will want to pick their favorite color.)
US I-9/5.50m crochet hook
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
(Caron simply soft ombre, 5-ounce, 235 yards, 215 m, 141g. Color gold ombre. Approx. 2 1/2 skeins. Finished size 56” x 32”)
