Matoka
Matoka was inspired by our Princess here in the US, Pocahontas. Taken after her formal name, traveling to where the colony of Jamestown was and where her story as we know it began. I felt this was appropriate given all the unrest all of us have gone through. This pattern is not for a beginner due to having multiple charts in it and having not just two but four colors in the entirety of the socks.
If you are a beginner and want to try it, please do. It is a challenging pattern but anytime you have questions about it, please contact me. The entirety of both socks is done in Dragon Hoard Yarn’s Lore Base in Pocahontas, Fire Vixen, Cheshire Grin, and a mini that I had leftover. You will need two full skeins of fingering weight and two mini-skeins of fingering weight to complete these socks.
The gauge for this pattern is 8 sts x 10 rnds is 1 inch or 2.25 centimeters. This allows the pattern to be more custom in case you wish to make it for a smaller or larger foot. I did include a Stitch Guide in the pattern so that you will be able to have a refresher on the pattern as a whole and I also included a chart for each size. I hope you all enjoy Matoka as much as I loved designing it!
