This year I’m loving orange, for the first time in my life. I’ve never liked it before; always ate the orange M&Ms first. Lately, though, they have been the favored ones.

When I saw the orange and yellow at the yarn store, I didn’t know what they would be, but I wanted them with the same craving as I have for M&Ms.

The pattern just sort of developed on its own as I went along. I wanted a kids’ mitten that would work for both boys and girls, and ended up with a design that works for just about anyone. Imagine it in grays for a man, blue and yellow for a little boy, or whatever color would match your own winter coat! They don’t take much yarn. I think I’m going to spin up some natural sheepy colored yarn for my own pair!
