Update : Nov 22 2024 I’ve updated the SPECIAL TECHNIQUES section of the pattern with my latest video for Folded hem bindoff. I have included alternate methods to achieve the folded hem as well. No changes made to the pattern instructions. Thank you for your support! ♥️

My regular wardrobe is pretty mundane and basic, but being a knitter opens up so many possibilities to add uniqueness and interest to it. I am sure many other knitters feel the same way. A hood is one such interesting accessory that provides a soft and warm covering for most of the head and the neck. It can be a versatile fashion alternative to wearing a hat during the cold seasons for all age groups.

“Matte Hood” is a hip accessory designed to be a reasonably quick, fun, and enjoyable knit. The stitch pattern reminded me of ‘matte’ finished surfaces that are dull and muted, yet convey a subtle sophistication.
