Matterhorn Headband
The Matterhorn Headband is designed as a basic and timeless colorwork project, it’s ideal for someone who hesitates to start a colorwork knitting adventure! Don’t be afraid, it’s not as hard as you imagine. It is knitted in the round repeating a motif. There are two versions available, you can freely choose between the Classic version (top) or the Tuck version (bottom), or give both a try!
Sizes
S (M), ideal for 50-52 cm /20-20.5 inches (55-57 cm /22-22.5 inches.
The Classic version is 7.5 cm /3 inches wide, the Tuck version is 10 cm /4 inches wide.
Gauge
17 sts x 20 rnds = 10 cm /4 inches in colorwork of the chart after blocking.
Yarn
Chocolate from Maninmaglia yarnshop in colorway Bianco and colorway Grigione (180 m per 100 g), or other bulky weight (7 wpi) yarn that can meet the gauge.
Main Color (MC): Approx. 29 (32) g in the Tuck version. Approx. 21 (23) g in the Classic version.
Contrast Color (CC): Approx. 6.5 (7) g in both versions.
NOTE: The yarn quantity for the Tuck version is calculated by adding tucks to the Classic version that uses the same main color. The bottom sample in the photo is a mixed type.
Needles
4.5 mm /US 7, 60 cm /24 inches circular needle, or other size to meet the gauge;
5.0 mm /US 8, 60 cm /24 inches circular needle, or other size to meet the gauge.
