Maubec Cardigan
The cardigan was designed for a relaxed, boxy fit with a drop-shoulder, which is nicely visualized by the crossing lines of the Grid Stitch pattern. It is named after a little village in Provence with a casual, laid-back lifestyle, like the design of the sweater.
Finished bust circumference: 107.5 (118, 127.5, 137, 147.5, 157, 169) cm 42.25 (46.5, 50.25, 54, 58, 61.75, 66.5)”. It is intended to be worn with 23 – 25 cm 9 – 9.75” of positive ease at the bust.
The cardigan is worked seamlessly top-down starting with the back yoke. Afterwards, stitches for the front shoulders are picked up and the Back and Front parts are joined at the bottom of the armhole and worked flat down to the hem in one piece. For the Sleeves, stiches are picked up at the armhole. German short rows are used to form the sleeve cap until the underarm before the sleeves are finished in the round. The front bands and neck band are knit-in at the end.
