Worked seamlessly from the top down with a strong heel and wedge toe, the Maven Socks are inspired by my love of texture and colour and the need for simple socks to knit the beautiful array of sock yarn available.

4ply/fingering gauge: 34sts and 48 rounds = 10cm/4” in stockinette stitch in the round. Blocked and unstretched.

8ply/DK gauge: 28sts and 40 rounds = 10cm/4” in stockinette stitch in the round. Blocked and unstretched.

From self-striping to speckled to variegated to gradient to semi solids and a simple solid colour. This simple textured sock design will allow the yarn to shine and is the perfect relaxing knitting for on the go or whenever you have spare moment, you will be surprised at how quickly they knit up.
The Maven sock pattern is a versatile knit which can be knit in 4ply/ fingering or DK/8ply superwash sock yarn, with added nylon for durability or a hard-wearing non superwash wool such as corriedale or mohair blends etc.
A simple but fun pair of socks they are perfect for a beginner sock knitter that is ready to move on to something textured. Written in seven sizes for the whole family, which includes baby, toddler, child, x-small, small, medium and large.
