Maverick the Mallard is a handful of fun. He’s palm sized and perfect to give as gifts. He’s adorable made in Ruber Ducky Yellow, too!

He measures 3” long and 3 1/2” tall, when crocheted with recommended yarn and hook. If you use other yarn weights, be sure to go down a couple of sized that what the yarn calls for, just to make sure you get a good tight fabric.

Maverick is worked in the round using primarily single crochet.

Stitches used: Single crochet, Slip Stitch, Half Double crochet, Double Crochet, Increases and Decreases.

Materials needed:

• Small amounts of Worsted weight yarn in brown, green, white, yellow, and grey.
• 3 mm hook for the body of they bird, plus an optional 2.75mm hook.
• 6 mm safety eyes

Notions needed:

• 3 stitch markers
• yarn needle
• scissors
• polyester fiber fill
