This pattern is for my merkids Max and and Samira. They make a fun crochet project for improving beginners as well as seasoned crocheters!

Max and Samira the merkids are the fraternal twins of Mara the mermaid and Sam the Merman. They love playing hide and seek with the seahorses and fish in the coral riff. I’m sure they will make a fun addition to your Amigurumi collection.

This downloadable pdf pattern has detailed step-by-step instructions that are accompanied with high quality photos of the process.
The pattern includes photo tutorials on how to make a magic ring, invisible decreases in single crochet, and color changes in single crochet.

The dolls are crocheted from top to bottom and there is minimal sewing involved.

Required materials and tools:

• Cotton yarn in a DK / light worsted weight in different colors
• 2.5mm crochet hook / Size B-1 or C-2 depending on how tightly you crochet
• 2x 7mm safety eyes
• Fiberfill
• Large eyed sewing needle
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Craft wire (at least 1mm diameter) (optional)

If using the recommended yarn weight and hook size your merkid doll will be about 16cm / 6.25” tall.
