Max Hat and Wolf Mitts, Where the Wild Things Are
Let the Wild Rumpus Start!
Inspired by Max from the classic children’s book, Where the Wild Things Are, I designed this hat for a baby aged 3-6 months using size 4 needles and Lion Brand “Pound of Love” baby yarn. You can also use the same pattern to make a hat for an older baby or toddler by using size 6 needles, and a slightly heavier weight yarn, such as Vanna’s Choice.
You will need:
size 4 circs
size 4 dpns
1 skein of worsted weight white yarn
1 skein of worsted weight gold yarn
Lion Brand Pound of Love, Antique White, Beige
Techniques required are:
knitting, purling, knitting in the round on DPNs, picking up stitches, and placing stitches on waste yarn. You will also do an i-cord cast on, but you can watch videos on how to do this. You will need to k2tog (knit two stitches together) and SSK (slip, slip, knit) in order to complete this pattern.
