This hat was inspired by Tikki’s Milo vest. I wanted something that was similar to a vest that I had knit for Milo May. I wanted a hat to ‘tie in’ rather than match it exactly. It is a very simple design and knit inside out for those of us who adore reverse stockinette but detest purling!

May Inspired is made a little longer to cover those all important ears! I would recommend even if you are nearing the end of one of the size parameters that you dont size up (unless it’s less than a centimeter in one of the child’s sizes - we all know that they grow far too quickly) as the extra length of the next size may make it too long.

May Inspired was originally designed to be beanie length, however I have included instructions on how much length to add for a slouchie. Please allow up to 90gm for a large adult slouchie.

The 40cm (baby size) will fit babes from approximately 3months - if you can measure or have someone measure that would be the best option.

My wonderful testers have knit this in gradients, semi solid, solid and variegated colourways and they are all lovely.

This hat will suit all experience levels as it is a simple design with an easily remembered cable pattern.
