May Pole 9" and 12" Square
This pattern was presented as a Mystery CAL in mugginsquilts’ Ravelry group in May, and is featured as the final square in the year-long VCFC BAWL.
It is the main block for May 2017 in the 2017 Crochet Block A Month CAL.
Inspired by mugginsquilts’ Observational CAL series, I made one for May Day, with a May pole of course. The border on this one actually looks a lot more like roses than in the Fountain of Roses pattern - yes, I do know roses don’t grow on single stems. :) It’s also a lot more complicated.
This square is a little bigger than many at the 12” size, so it’s possible you’ll have to go down a hook size, depending on how your squares usually come out. The 9” stopping point doesn’t tend to have this problem.
This pattern is an Intermediate level of difficulty at least.
