Being obsessed with texture, I love honeycomb stitch in all its variations. The one I chose for this hat is worked over 4 rows. It is easy to execute, yet very effective. It brings out the beauty of the yarn, both in the colours and the softness.
The diagonal lines breaking the stitch pattern into sections make it fun to knit and create a wavy movement, reminiscent of natural shapes and sounds. Think of the rustling pebbles on a beach, on a glorious, windy autumn day.

One skein of Rios will be enough to make the hat. If you’re planning to use a different yarn, make sure to choose a squishy, elastic substitute to ensure a beautiful, 3D texture.

The hat is knitted seamlessly in the round, but every round is different from the one before. In addition to that, the pattern combines different stitches and techniques that will keep the knitter’s interest alive throughout.
