The Mayberry Mitts pattern by Kate Atherley is part of our 2018 Red Scarf fundraiser project. All sales from this pattern through December 31, 2018 will go directly to the scholarship fund in partnership with Foster Care to Success. A portion of the sales from our exclusive Festivus 4.0 sport yarn used in this pattern will also go to the scholarship fund. This scholarship helps a student who has aged out of the foster care system to realize their dream of getting an education.

A bit about Mayberry Mitts from Kate:

I am one of Those Knitters. I like my accessories to match. I’ve even been known to make socks to match shawls, which is probably taking it a little too far. In this case, we’ve got a pair of fingerless mitts that are a great match for my Mayberry Cap design. And because I also suffer from Second Mitten Syndrome, I’ve indulged in my usual trick of making the right and left different. If you have made the Mayberry Cap, you’ll notice that the charts are different–it’s so the scale of the pattern looks good in the finer yarn–and of course, to create both left and right versions.

The pattern requires a little experience working in the round, and working cables from charts.
