The Maypole Wrap makes the most of contrasting colours. Each band of colour dovetails into the next as stripes of garter stitch are pulled into waves by the lace motifs in between.

Once you’ve knit the pattern a few times, it’s easy to remember – and if you make a mistake, you can always just rip it back to the last garter stitch section for an easy recovery.

By adding a few extra repeats, or leaving a couple out, you can adjust the pattern to the amount of yarn you have available.

This wrap can be used with a 4ply yarn Advent Calendar Kit containing 24 colours. Each colour will need to weigh 15 grams and be 56 metres in length.

You can of course use any number and combination of colours you like.
