A hat is always an excellent small canvas for trying out a new technique or stitch. If you’re familiar with basic brioche knitting, why not try this honeycomb variation? Worked with the same knitting and slipping techniques as ribbed brioche, honeycomb produces a net-like fabric that hovers over a layer of contrasting color.

The Cabrito Collection is an exploration of how a strand of our laceweight kid mohair yarn, Cabrito, paired with another yarn adds a layer of rich texture and velvety warmth.

Manos del Uruguay FELIZ (70% superwash merino, 30% modal; approx. 350 yds/100 g): 1 sk of MC.

Manos del Uruguay CABRITO (80% kid mohair, 20% polyamide; approx. 230 yds/25 g): 1 sk of CC.

Shown in Feliz Z2206 Mulberry (MC) and Cabrito R6966 Tiza (CC), 1 strand of each held together

US 4/3.5mm 16” circular needle and double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

22 sts and 32 rnds = 4”/10cm in 1x1 Rib with 1 strand of each yarn held together, blocked.

NOTES
This project is worked in the round. The 1x1 Rib pattern of the brim and crown and the Brioche Rib sections are worked with one strand each of Feliz and Cabrito held together.
