McKinley Hat
If you are like many parents, you are looking for a hat that will be snug around the face, cover the ears, and keep your little one’s neck warm. If your wee one is like many other wee ones out there, they dislike having something pulled over their heads.
Along comes McKinley… you can tailor the neck closure to be either fastened with buttons or pulled over the head like a balaclava (if you are lucky enough to be blessed with a child of the more cooperative variety). The brim around the face is hemmed to be doubly thick and cozy, and the colour combination variations ensures even the most discriminating tastes will be satisfied
You will only need one skein of Rhichard Devrieze fingering weight yarn (held double throughout) and one ball of Rowan Pure Wool Worsted to make either size.
Updated Pattern Notes: Latest version was done using Fynn by Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze. It is a worsted weight yarn, so no need to hold the yarn double, and I used 5mm needles throughout. I will be updating the pattern and re-releasing it soon with the new yarn suggestions.
