McKinley's Springtime Hat
I have been loving the warmer weather and beautiful sunshine the past few weeks. The trees are all in bloom, and I have serious spring fever! I wanted to make my daughter a hat that would be nice for spring. I created this pattern from about four different patterns, so I cannot claim it as my own. I would love to share this creation with you.
This pattern is also available on my website, http://mckinleyscloset.blogspot.com

After a few requests on how to make the hat in an adult size, I am adding a few quick notes here. I will also add them to the pattern and the blog when I get a chance after the holidays. Here are some guidelines to make the hat bigger.
In order to make an adult size hat-about 20-21 inches around-you can either use a larger crochet hook, or you can do one more increase before you do the shell stitches. So, after round 7, you can do another increase round:
ch 2, 2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in next 6 sts repeat from * around, join to ch2 space at beginning of round with a sl st. (72 sts)
That should make it big enough around, you may need to play around with the length. You can add 1-2 shell stitch rounds or add more sc rounds at the end.
