Meander Beanie
This is a great intermediate pattern that produces a beautiful result with a variety of yarns. This is also a great pattern for advanced beginner knitters who are ready to stretch a little and try a cable technique.
I fell in love with Manos del Uruguay Classica yarn in the colorway “Wildflowers”, and started experimenting with different stitches. The Meander Beanie was born! I can’t tell you how many times I have made this beanie and developed it so it can be made in Worsted, Heavy Worsted or Bulky yarns. Everything from Solids, Tonals, to Multi-Colored yarns look amazing with this pattern!
The circumference can easily be increased or decreased in increments of 8 stitches to accommodate different head measurements or yarn weights.
A single skein of most yarns will complete this pattern.
Gauges by Yarn Weight:
Worsted: 21 sts x 31 rnds = 4”/10 cm on size 7 (4.5mm)
Heavy Worsted: 18 sts x 27 rnds = 4”/10 cm on size 9 (5.5mm)
Bulky: 14 sts x 24 rounds = 4”/10 cm on size 10.5(6.5mm)
