This warm, soft cardigan is knit seamlessly with minimal finishing for the maker. The body is worked flat in one piece, raglan sleeve shaping happening as you go, with stitches held on waste yarn to be worked for the sleeves. The sleeves are then worked in the round (I prefer the magic loop method with circular needles!). The lacy braid pattern, which reminds me of a braided river, is worked over repeats of 12 rows and adds a delicate touch. It looks far more complicated than it is! Instructions for an assortment of edging styles are provided.

This pattern contains instructions for eight sizes, using between approximately 3 and 7 balls of 8ply/DK Superfine Merino (I prefer Cleckheaton Australian Superfine Merino, but any 8ply/DK can be used, provided gauge is 22sts and 30rows to 10cm). You’ll need 4mm (6US) circular needles (as well as DPNs if you prefer working in the round with them).
