Meandros Mosaic Mitts
Mosaic Knitting is a color-knitting technique which creates patterns in two colors, but only one color is worked per row while the other color is slipped. These mitts provide an opportunity to learn how to work the mosaic technique, make mosaic garter and stockinette patterns, and read mosaic charts.
Design Inspiration
Unlike Fair Isle stranded colorwork, which uses two colors at once and produces floats across the back of the work, Mosaic Knitting only uses one color on any given row. Mosaic knitting is an easy technique, and can be created using only knit and slipped stitches, creating a garter mosaic pattern. Or you can purl the knit stitches from the prior row, instead of knitting them, creating a stockinette mosaic pattern.
Design for Everyone
Adventures in Knitting patterns give you a map so you can learn a new technique while making your project! If you’re a newer knitter, you won’t be left not knowing where to turn: this pattern features fully-explained instructions and linked tutorials for all the major techniques beyond knit and purl, so even if you’ve never tried a particular technique before, I’ve got you covered!
Knitting one of these patterns is like taking a knitting workshop from the comfort of your own home!
