The bottom edge of this shawl is crocheted first, and is formed into a half circle with the addition of the first row of stitches in the body of the shawl. From then on it’s worked bottom-up in a chain-one mesh stitch, with a little break for an inserted medallion of shells. Finish it off with two rounds of edging around the entire shawl and all you have to do is weave in the ends – no sewing required!
