Mediterranean Sea Scarf
This is my first pattern that I want to share on Raverly. It can be used for a scarf or a shawl.
I’ve knitted my scarf from a 6/1 Dundaga yarn 6/1. The uniqueness of that yarn is in it’s colors. Therefore, I cannot give out the color numbers here, but I can give some general recommendations for this yarn. For the background, you can use a sectionally dyed yarn, and knit the pattern in plain color. You can, on the contrary, make the background monophonic, and knit the pattern and the sectional yarn. If you use the sectional yarn with sections of different tones of the same color, then the transitions will be smoother. If the sectional yarn consists of contrasting colors, then you will get the effect of stripes, so you need to take this into account when choosing the yarn. Dundaga tweed yarn will give you a more washed out effect, it can also be sectional and plain. Instead of the Dundaga yarn, you can use any pure wool yarn 430-480m in 100 gr.
