Medusa Earwarmer
This pattern is included in the Indie Design Gift-A-Long! Come join us at http://www.ravelry.com/groups/indie-design-gift-a-long for all the inspiration, chat and cheer you’ll need to get your gifts finished this year. My gift to you is a 25% discount on the patterns in this bundle when you use the coupon code “giftalong2024” from Nov 21, 2024 at 5:00 pm US EST to Nov 27, 2024 at 11:59pm US EST.
Please note that a double-ended hook is required for this pattern, but I’ve chosen a size and style that can be easily obtained at most box stores like Joann’s or Michaels
Legend says that anyone who locked eyes with the gorgon Medusa would be turned to cold, hard stone. No one likes to be cold, but I like cold ears the least. Squishy, double-thick Tunisian crochet fabric is sure to keep your ears warm this Winter! Adjustable in both width and length, this is a very customizable project that will show off your bright, beautiful yarns well.
Sizes
Child (Adult Narrow, Adult Wide)
Finished Measurements
3.5 (4, 4.5)” / 9 (10, 11) cm wide, laid flat; length is adjustable to the wearer’s head circumference
Yarn
- 150-230 yds (137-210 m) of dk weight yarn in two or more colors.
- The sample Used Yarn Over New York Greenwich Village in the colorways Steampunk Medusa (Color A) and Blackbird (Color B).
Yarn Substitution
This pattern is great for leftover or partial skeins, as the largest size only used 50g of each color of yarn. You could easily also hold two strands of fingering weight yarn double to meet the dk gauge.
I suggest using a yarn that will feel soft against the ears, face, and back of neck.
Color Choice
The sample is shown in two high-contrast colors, but you can make it with any number of colors or combination you choose. You could even work from the inside and outside of a single caked skein for a one-color earwarmer. The combinations and color choices are endless!
