Meeple Bobble Hat
Meeples are little mini people-shaped board game pieces that are often moved around the board to represent individual players. I made this very slouchy meeple beanie for an incredible board game-camping festival held in the woods in the south of England at the end of every August.
I used fair isle/stranded knitting for this project (yes, the floats are long!), but one could also adapt this pattern to make different coloured meeples around the hat using intarsia.
Materials:
DK weight yarn: I used West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab DK in the following colours: Deep Teal (MC), Coral Crush (CC1), and Aqua Green (CC2; optional - you only need a tiny amount). One ball of each.
Knitting needles that will enable you to get gauge and knit in the round. I used US size 4 needles, but I knit very loosely, so chances are you might need a larger size needle. Optional - one size smaller needles for ribbing.
Stitch marker & darning needles for weaving in ends.
Gauge:
Approx. 11 stitches/5cm or 2 in.
Note: this an untested pattern that is really more like a recipe/record of what I did to make the specific hat pictured - please 1) proceed at your own risk and 2) amend and make it your own!!
