I love self striping yarn and I have ended up with a lot of fraternal socks because I like to knit both socks at the same time. I have tried splitting the yarn in half by measuring the length of the ball or by weighing the yarn before starting the socks. I have tried making two pairs one after the other with one sock from each yarn so that I would end up with matching socks and I ended up with double second sock syndrome. I decided there had to be a simpler way to have socks that looked relatively identical without so much effort.

I introduce to you the Meet Me in the Middle pattern that allows you to make socks that pattern in a similar sequence to each other while being knit at the same time.

The pattern is available for women in 3 sizes for small (56 sts), medium (64 sts) and large (72 sts).

Materials:

1 skein self-striping or variegated yarn wound into a centre pull ball so that both ends can be used at the same time.

40”/100cm US 1/2.25mm circular needle.

Darning needle.
