Mega Mythens are a pair of densely knitted, soft and lightweight mittens. They take their name after the naturally dyed, chunky mohair from Hesselstrik, Mega Myth. This soft fluff both hides and accentuates the knotted strand of yarn ties that gives the special furry look to the mittens.

The mittens are simply constructed: longtail cast on for cuff, double ribbing, thumb gusset, decreases for a rounded top. This leaves you with a canvas-like pattern for playing with your yarn choices to meet the suggested gauge.

When using Hesselgarn, I suggest knitting with 3 strands of yarn: cuff with 2 strands of fingering and 1 strand of lace and body of hand with 1 strand of DK mohair, 1 strand of lace and 1 strand of knotted mixed fingering/lace yarns.

This pattern is also perfect for using left-overs, so feel free to play around with yarns from your stash that will meet the gauge.
