mega popcorn c2c
This is a variation of the standard c2c blanket. It uses the same building block technique but replaces blocks with popcorn stitches on some rows. It is a warm textured blanket but still with a lot of air gaps for breathing should the blanket slip and cover the face of a baby. Once the basic technique has been mastered adaptations and variations are possible.
I have used mandala yarn to show off the stripes in the c2c blanket but a solid colour would work equally well. I used a hook on the larger side of the recommendation and it would be possible to use a larger hook again for an even more open effect.
It is a very yarn heavy pattern similar to crocodile stitch, 2 cakes made a relatively small blanket (31 by 25 ins) suitable for a crib/stroller, for a full size cot you would probably need 4 cakes.
The pattern is not a professional one and the only testing has been by me in remaking the item from the instructions written. If you have a problem my email address is on the pattern, please contact me and I will try to help.
